Food and Wine

The direct relationship with a lush and fertile land and unpolluted sea has given rise to the highest quality products that make Maremma one of the gastronomic paradise of Italy.

Beautiful and suggested sights,  for those who decide to spend their holidays at Le moraiole Country House, are the roads of wine and oil, special food and wine itineraries to discover the traditions and tastes of this extraordinary territory, but also to admire the natural and artistic beauties.

Our estate is in the area of Monteregio Massa Marittima path that leads to the hills of the Metalliferous Grosseto. Ancient castles and the Gulf of Follonica is a background ideal to enjoy the local wines, perfect with the typical wild boar salami, pecorino cheese, truffles, and Maremma meat.

Moving down from Livorno you can take the Road del Vino e dell’Olio della Val di Cornia  through small towns which have all Etruscan origins. DOC wines such us Sassicaia e l’Ornellaia, extra virgin olive oil IGP, cheese, vegetables, sweets and organic products make the Costa degli Etruschi a true “reservoir” of flavors to be discovered.

Further south it is possible to visit strada del vino e dei sapori Colli di Maremma , one of the most interesting proposals of the food and wine roads, enriched with extra virgin olive oil and six DOC wines: Morellino di Scansano, Bianco di Pitigliano, Parrina, Sovana, Capalbio and Ansonica Argentario Coast.

For those wishing to take a trip to the inside lands of Maremma is recommended Montecucco itinerary that allows to know the tasty local wines, the chestnut of Mount Amiata IGP, honey, saffron, mushrooms, salty biscuit of Roccalbegna.
